Volkswagen, in Chattanooga, Tennessee is looking for a Vehicle Electronics Test System Specialistto join our team in Pilot Hall. A good candidate for this position has programming expertise, and is passionate about the automotive industry. This positions primary focus will be development/debugging for end-of-line vehicle programming and test sequence processes

Creation of check programs to support the initialization and testing of vehicle electronics systems during vehicle production process.
Initialization of complete vehicle control systems during production process of prototype, pre-series, and series production vehicles.
Programming the vehicle-related sequences of the operating equipment including Axle Alignment, Dynamometer/Roller Testing, Fluid Filling Systems, etc.
Creation of check programs to ensure the quality of the vehicle by means of specification, build, and functional testing.
Verification of vehicle functions in the pre-series builds (early product life-cycle prior to the regularly scheduled series builds).
Working with a cross-function team, develop and capture vehicle- and site-specific requirements for vehicle initialization and testing in a production environment. Translate requirements into software programs/strategies to achieve production and quality targets.
Adjustment and optimization of check programs based on statistical analysis and feedback from production customers.
Analysis of coding and programming data in cases of functional failures; development of measures for the timely prevention and control of failures – Debugging and implementing a fix.
Work closely with suppliers and vehicle systems/software developers in Germany to improve end-of-line testing processes through improvements to the vehicle software and technical content.
Develop and implement improvements in product, process control, production cycle time while improving efficiency and production costs.
Implement sustainable measures for failure resolution processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or Computer Science
2+ years of relatable experience
Experience with programming languages (Mainly working with C#, C++, Java)
Ability to adapt to company specific software systems
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Excellent problem solving techniques
Advanced degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
Automotive manufacturing experience
Knowledge of Automotive Systems/Construction
Familiarity with CAN-based vehicle architecture and similar networks (CAN, LIN, Flex Ray, Etc.)
Experience with CAN-based vehicle engineering and diagnostics tools/protocol
German Language is very helpful in this role
