TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITION
The David Geffen School of Medicine is seeking an outstanding faculty member to join its highly interactive Neuroscience community. Candidates, at all levels, utilizing state of the art experimental or computational methods to answer fundamental questions in neuroscience or to explore mechanisms of disease are encouraged to apply.
The position is a state-supported, tenure-track/tenured professorship. The successful candidate will have a primary appointment in a department best matched to the candidate’s interests in the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine (i.e., Neurobiology, Physiology, Biological Chemistry, Pathology, Molecular Pharmacology, Computational Medicine, Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics, Neurology, Neurosurgery or Neurology).
Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree. Preference will be given to applicants at the Assistant Professor level, although exceptional candidates at all levels, including Associate and Full Professor, will be considered. Emphasis will be placed on the applicant’s record of teaching excellence, research accomplishment and creativity, professional activity, and service to the University community. The Neuroscience Theme seeks a candidate with a proven record of contributing to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Neuroscience faculty occupy state-of-the-art modern laboratories in the David Geffen School of Medicine, including the newly renovated South Tower. UCLA faculty conduct fundamental and translational research in molecular, cellular, computational, and systems neuroscience. Faculty will be a part of the Neuroscience Theme, one of six research themes established to foster cross-campus collaborations. Faculty have the opportunity to contribute to the teaching of neuroscience to not only graduate and medical students, but also to undergraduate and dental students.
