Whether they’re setting up a trust that provides wealth for the next generation or creating a fund for their philanthropic efforts, our Estate Settlement Officers, Trust Officers, Estate Planners and Portfolio Managers design plans tailored around current needs and the future they choose.
As a Trust & Estate Settlement Officer you will:
Manage a caseload of trust and estate administration matters in a team environment.
Administer immediate and long-term trust & estate strategies.
Provide trust and estate planning solutions and wealth transfer strategies to clients and prospects in partnership with firm associates and departments.
Secure and manage real and personal property assets of estates and/or trusts.
Review and interpret estate and trust documents (i.e. wills, trusts, powers-of-attorney, health care directives, pre-nuptials, partnership agreements, irrevocable life insurance trusts, etc.).
Keep abreast of tasks to be performed for each client, open items, and mission documents/information.
Research, gather, and compile data and information, prepare reports and summaries, and replies to inquiries, selecting relevant data from a variety of sources.
Monitor, reconcile and assist with fiscal administration of the Trust Company.
Ensure financial policies, procedures, and internal controls comply with SEC reporting requirements.
Establish, update, and maintains files, inventories and records.
Maintain data management systems, as required.
Collaborate with attorneys, accountants, appraisers, realtors and other professionals.
Be able to assist in the preparation and review of federal and state estate and inheritance tax returns, as well as federal and state personal and fiduciary income tax returns.

What we look for:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or Juris Doctorate (J.D.)
5+ year experience as a trust officer in a banking or securities industry or 5+ year experience as an attorney or senior paralegal in a law firm environment preferred
CTFA designation preferred but not required
