Barclays Services Corp. seeks a Trading Systems Developer for its New York, New York location.
Duties: Within global investment bank, utilize knowledge of computer technologies, systems, applications and programming skills to develop and support low latency software for analytical trading systems across Rates, FX and Credit asset classes. Work closely with Front Office and Statistical Modeling and Development to gather requirements and develop plans to execute K Database (KDB) deliverables for pricing and hedging models. Liaise with Java team to define interfaces between Java and KDB. Work with Run the Bank (RTB) teams to ensure smooth working of business crucial KDB infrastructure. Perform design, development, maintenance and enhancement of analytical trading system KDB components, including KDB tables, data consistency, gateway processes, and report generation for Front Office. Create KDB processes to support low latency trading and pricing systems. Perform unit, system and regression testing of code to ensure quality of the KDB processes. Review code and support implementation of new code releases. Debug, profile and improve performance of KDB components. Lead KDB effort during New York trading hours and ensure all support issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field, and 1 year of experience as Software Developer, Software Engineer, Application Developer or related occupation. Must have at least one (1) year of experience with the following: Java; Websphere DB2; Websphere MQ; Unix Shell Scripting; Linux and Windows Operating Systems; Webservices; Database Security.
