Line of Business Position Description and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of typically non-routine support functions related to trade finance servicing by following established practices and precedents. Typical job activities include: reviewing, auditing, tracing, and researching trade finance documents, outstanding payments, amount discrepancies, returned/unpaid items and Letters of Credit renewal/maturity files; investigating and resolving customer inquiries; processing specialized trade finance transactions such as letters of credit, amendments, acceptances, collections reimbursements and advises, verifying and disbursing payments; reconciling and balancing letters of credit fees, liabilities, posted items; preparing and recording issuances, amendments, stand-by letters of credit, negotiations, and related trade finance correspondence. Problems encountered are of substantial variety and complexity requiring basic research to resolve. Refers only the highly technical/complex transactions and documents to specialist for resolution. Individuals typically have 1-3 years of experience.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to opening mail, investigating incoming work to decide which unit should receive it, Data entry, Prepping documents for imaging, imaging documents and processing outgoing FedEx, DHL and UPS. This position requires some lifting and pushing of mail carts and is in a high production area.
Performs a variety of somewhat complex technical and analytical functions related to trade financing and servicing. Typical responsibilities include reviewing and approving trade finance documents for bank and regulatory compliance and acceptability of terms and conditions; negotiating standard import/export letters of credit for final payment and settlement, analyzing issuances and amendments of import/export letters of credit and bankers acceptances; issuing commercial and stand-by letters of credit and related documents and interpreting and clarifying terms and conditions of trade finance documents for customers. Individuals typically have 3-5 years of experience with 1-2 years of banking, customer service, or Trade experience preferred.
