JOB DESCRIPTION
The TEMP -PRODUCER, MOTION & PRINT GRAPHIC DESIGNis responsible for supervising the design and production of all motion graphics and off-channel print materials for IFC. Areas of oversight includes On-Air Custom GFX Packages, Secondary Event GFX, web based projects, Print Design projects, Digital Media Design and more. Both technical and design fluency is required to actively maximize internal workflow efficiencies, and consult as needed on outside agency design projects.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee project management for all IFC Motion GFX and Print Design, and provide status to Marketing Creative & Production Director on weekly and/or project by project basis. Responsible for keeping department production schedule and delivering projects on time.
• Meet with Marketing Creative & Production Director and Design Director to review project request(s), assess production flow and assist in assigning projects to freelancers when necessary.
• Responsible to follow up with requesting departments and provide them with production schedules.
• With Design Director, present initial designs and ideas to SVP Brand and follow-up with any revisions necessary.
• Provide Company Nets Director of Operations with information needed for any legal or accounting paperwork.
• Establish, distribute and update style guides for promo GFX packages. Serve as visual keeper of brand as it pertains to motion graphics and print design, actively communicate and distribute changes to the style guides.
• Liaise with designers, editors, and producers to ensure GFX projects are implemented in accordance with optimal technical specifications.
• Proactively manage GFX resources to insure optimal bandwidth. Develop and maintain relationships with external GFX and Creative Agency resources.
• Manage temp designers or contractors. Communicate clearly to design agencies and freelancers.
• Advise on budget implications and production scenarios for a wide array of GFX executions, providing timely and informed solutions to GFX challenges
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
(Both Internal & External)
Director Marketing Production (Direct)
Oversee production of all Motion and Off Channel Print GFX. Assist in assessing workflow and budgets of motion GFX and Print Design projects, assigning projects to outside agencies/ freelancers when necessary.
Director of Production (Indirect)
Oversee production of all Motion GFX. Assist in assessing workflow and budgets of motion GFX project, assigning projects to outside agencies/ freelancers when necessary.
Design Director
Consults on all motion, print and web design projects on a daily/weekly basis. Gathers creative feedback for designer/agencies, responsible for keeping projects on schedule.
VP/ Creative Director, On-Air Promotion & Branding
Communicates management of all design projects for Creative Director On-Air & writer/producer teams.
Agencies/ Temps/ Freelancers
Manages assigned design projects. Ensures schedules, budgets & approvals stay on track per project parameters. Provides feedback on behalf of Design Directors.
Producers/ Editors
Process all motion GFX requests, advise on proper usage of IFC GFX, and route creative approval for Design Director approval as needed.
Promo Planning
Main contact for all custom and show specific network Secondary Events, responsible for delivery and QC of all custom secondary GFX
Broadcast & Technology GFX Department
Communicate and implementing any workflow changes tied to network secondary events. Deliver all custom secondary events for broadcast facility build and ingest.
