In the role of Technical Editor, we'll count on you to:
Determine consistency and clarity of style within technical reports, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents, permitting documents, construction documents, strategic plans, correspondence, meeting summaries, and other project deliverables
Perform editing and/or one-voice rewriting of diverse writing styles in technical reports (and all documents above) for QC and approval of the author
Compile information from environmental impact statements/environmental assessments (or other documents as needed) and write Executive Summaries, Public Involvement Summaries, and Scoping Summary Reports
Perform QC on Strategic Communications deliverables for consistency, style, and accuracy of project information
Complete formatting and branding of documents according to Company or required client styles
Create Style Guides and templates for project deliverables
Interact with subject matter experts to clarify their documents, as well as the meaning, format, and style of their work
Perform other duties as needed
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or closely related field
30+ years technical editing experience
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat. Knowledge of InDesign.
Experience editing and rewriting for a wide variety of document types, subjects, and disciplines/business groups, including transportation, resources, oil and gas, water/wastewater, federal, and environmental
Experience with NEPA documents and e-filing requirements
Ability to handle documents for multiple projects in multiple disciplines with tight/changing deadlines, with minimal supervision
Proficiency with SharePoint documents
Ability to generate work internally and via work-sharing
