Vice President, Sustainability & ESG
The Vice President is part of Citi’s seven-person Sustainability & Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) team, which is responsible for the development and execution of Citi’s Sustainable Progress Strategy and related key initiatives. The Sustainability & ESG team manages environmental, climate change, human rights and other stakeholder and business issues in partnership with Citi's businesses, risk functions and operational teams. The VP is responsible for managing the sustainable and climate finance-related data analysis and tracking related to Citi’s Sustainable Progress Strategy, and reports to the SVP, Sustainability & ESG, who reports to the Chief Sustainability Officer who in turn reports to Citi's Executive Vice President of Global Public Affairs.
Lead Citi’s sustainable and climate finance data tracking and analysis in support of the implementation of Citi’s 2025 Sustainable Progress Strategy
Work with internal businesses to maintain a robust data collection and management process for sustainable and climate finance and impact metrics
Identify, calculate and report additional quantitative metrics as needed
ESG Communications & Disclosure
Lead Citi’s annual response to the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project)
Contribute content to Citi’s ESG ratings, assessment questionnaires, and client RFPs
Develop presentation materials, talking points, benchmarking and analysis on sustainability and ESG-related topics for engagement with internal and external stakeholders
Manage Citi’s internal sustainability network comprised of global teams whose work relates to sustainability
Maintain relationships with external organizations in the field of sustainable and climate finance
Contribute to the Sustainability & ESG team’s work on strategy, research, analysis and data collection projects as needed
5+ years of relevant professional experience in finance, sustainability, ESG, investing, economics or markets-related role
Undergraduate degree in relevant field required, Master’s degree preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of sustainability issues as they impact business
Basic knowledge of banking and finance products and terminology
Strong analytical, research and investigative skills, ability to evaluate and assess complex topics and creatively problem solve
Strong program management skills, including the ability to create and execute work plans
Exceptional work ethic, with the ability to multi-task and work in a high-performance professional environment under tight deadlines and shifting priorities
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with a strong attention to detail
Expertise Excel and PowerPoint
Flexible, a good sense of humor, and a team player
