Job Description
SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this job is to supervise Category Analysts by delegation of assignments, review of work, on-going training and to ensure all work is accurately completed in a timely manner. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Company’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Assign and review the work of category of category analysts to ensure accuracy and that deadlines are being met in order to ensure that analysis is actionable and supports decision making within category management
- Assist in managing the annual category planning process to ensure accurate and timely category budgets that support the front end financial goals of the company
- Evaluate front end performance relative to plan and forecast and make recommendation for changes to the forecast based on current trends and initiatives in specific categories
- Support the development of new production reports that drive better decision making with category management through report design and data reconciliation
- Support senior category management and executive management with ad hoc analysis need to better understand business opportunities
- Serve on SAB committees to support committee objectives that drive value to Company
- Attend profit plan walk-throughs, ad meetings, buy plan reviews and category POG strategy meeting to ensure that financial goals are being met
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position directly supervises Category Analyst 2, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.
Experience / Requirements
- Two (2) years' of experience in Retail required
- Three (3) years' of experience in Analysis required
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Accounting, Finance, Marketing or Statistics required
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
