Job Description and Qualifications
Company and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Strategic Marketing Director – Global Hydrogen for Mobilityat our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Purpose: Hydrogen for Mobility (H2fM) is one of the key corporate growth priorities at Company (Company), and Company has an ambition to be the #1 global leader in H2fM.
This position leads the global development and execution of global hydrogen for mobility strategic marketing initiatives and enables successful execution of establishing leading global H2fM market position. The position will work on emerging market intelligence and competitor analysis while actively supporting a wide range of high-impact projects (including market insight and assessment, growth, regional execution support, end-to-end value chain etc.).
Nature and Scope: The position will report to the VP of Global Hydrogen for Mobility and will lead the strategic marketing unit of H2fM in scoping, market analytics, execution, work process management and recommendation
The position will review the external business environment focusing on emerging market, competitive landscape, identify and analyze high value market and customer segments, amenable size, and critical success factors to succeed in the selected segments and to ensure timely capture of new business opportunities for product improvement and technology innovations, collaborating and aligning with regional marketing and other regional teams.
The position will proactively gather / track marketing intelligence in emerging markets globally and to ensure timely capture new market opportunities for H2fM strategy implementation, product improvement trend and technology innovations. In support of emerging market intelligence, the position will also ensure that project analytics are done effectively. Analytical work will typically include primary and secondary market research, modeling, and insights creation. In addition, the role will support content development and project execution. The individual will participate in Global H2 for Mobility Marketing Council and will be required to work collaboratively with other functions as well as regional business teams.
In addition, the position will also lead development of global H2fM marketing capabilities to enable successful execution of regional marketing plan, including website content, global literatures development, digital and social media awareness, advertising (traditional or social), exhibitions and conferences and photographic / video projects.
This position requires strong planning, organizational, and analytical abilities; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and proven experience within the communications profession.
The position has direct employees reporting globally and provides guidance to functional teams including:
Marketing communications specialist(s) to support all marketing communications planning and execution
Marketing manager(s) to support market intelligence, market development and project execution
Emerging market intelligence insight development / competitive
Provide analytics for emerging markets and end-to-end business project execution
Provider competitive intelligence and develop key insights to address strategic marketing questions
Collaborate with corporate functions and regional businesses to gather financial data for financial analysis or to gather data on markets, customers and competitors from global perspective
Collaborate with regional business teams to track emerging market intelligence / competitor activities
◦ monitor regulation and market outlook and changes that may affect our business
◦ Identify key market trend that may bring us opportunity and risks
◦ Identify and analyze high value end market and customer segments for targeting
◦ Monitor competitive movement, including new investment and product /service offer etc.
Support regional/country marketing activities like exhibitions, conferences, seminars etc. from global perspective
Lead development of marketing capabilities (website content, global literatures development, digital, advertising, photographic / video projects)
Work with regional teams and related groups on global initiatives. Support for other assignments as needed.
B.S. / B.A. degree required. Degree from a top-tier university in an analytical, business-related or scientific discipline (e.g. engineering, marketing, economics, business, finance, etc.) preferred. Advanced Degree highly preferred (M.S., MBA, and/or PhD)
10+ years working experience and 5+ years in strategy and marketing related work.
Good communication skill and strong influencing skills
Willing to take initiatives and work proactively across functions
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and in a changing environment
Business and financial acumen including cash-flow analysis and capital structures
