HOURS: 3:30 pm - 2:00 am M-Th (4x10) to include overtime as needed due to warehouse demand.
This position is responsible for coordinating, tracking, locating, and handling raw material inventory in the Steel Warehouse in an accurate and timely manner to ensure that products and parts are properly stored and distributed in support of Company’s manufacturing goals.
This position is primarily responsible for coordinating the incoming and outgoing of raw material flow. Warehouse by using the on-line computer system to perform inventory transactions for part types/quantities from inventory and then enter accurate warehouse locations into the system.
Internally, the position interacts frequently with personnel from most or all of the production departments at Eisenhower Drive, and also with other departments such as Production, Inventory Control and Distribution. Externally, the position interacts with vendors of parts used in Company’s production processes to receive materials and resolve any discrepancies that may occur.
The major challenges of the position are maintaining the highest level of accuracy with inventory count, and satisfying the needs of many internal customers with an emphasis on quality service and timely delivery. These challenges require the candidate to continuously use planning and organizing skills to maintain the most accurate inventory records in the computer system, as well as to apply creative problem solving skills in response to customer needs or job closing errors.
Work for this position is generated through parts and materials from suppliers being delivered to the Eisenhower Drive facility and by the ongoing manufacture of parts by Company production departments. These materials must be added or deducted from the computerized inventory system, and stored or distributed from the Warehouse area. Most of the work is not directly assigned by the Facilitator, and requires self-initiative on the part of the candidate in order to meet the needs of the different manufacturing areas.
The position will use production scheduling tools to make many daily decisions regarding inventory, with long-term or large project decisions coming from the Facilitator.
Maintain accurate inventory records by verifying part counts and entering information such as materials received, materials issued, miscellaneous adjustments, and file and pull locations to ensure that current information is always available to support scheduling, production and ultimately customer satisfaction.
Supply manufacturing departments with materials and parts necessary to meet production goals by locating parts in the inventory computer system, picking them from the Warehouse stacks, and delivering them to internal customers in support of the timely manufacture and delivery of high-quality products.
Act as a resource for other Eisenhower team members and for other manufacturing personnel by solving problems related to inventory count, warehousing procedures, or the location of parts to promote and maintain smooth work flow in the warehouse.
Continually perform within established warehousing methods, processes and procedures to assure meeting departmental goals relating to efficiencies, equipment utilization and time usage in order to maintain or improve cost competitiveness. Work as a team member to determine and implement necessary changes.
Prepare spreadsheets, charts and graphs relating to inventory in order to monitor progress and make improvements.
Provide quality in all goods and services delivered to internal and external customers through an approach of thorough planning, responsible implementation, and continuous improvement.
Have knowledge of shop packets printing process and generate, print, and issue pick tickets as required.
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Blueprint reading skills.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, etc.
Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds of material during a shift.
Ability to read, interpret, and prepare manufacturing and warehousing documents.
Ability to differentiate between alpha and numeric characters.
Extensive knowledge of warehousing operations.
Ability to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
Ability to use on-line computer system to determine warehouse locations and maintain inventory accuracy.
PC skills, including but not limited to: Windows, Access, Excel (Intermediate), and Word.
Warehousing experience, including experience with computerized record keeping systems.
Problem solving ability.
Detail oriented with strong planning and organizational skills.
Ability to speak, read, write, and interpret English.
Ability to follow safety procedures.
Strong customer service skills.
Must be eligible to work in the US without VISA sponsorship.
