What We Need
We are looking for a curious and talented user experience researcher who will focus on making Company website's Pro site the best-in-class digital experience for our customers. This position will help drive site revenue as we plan to research and identify the needs of the new and existing Pro customer base. Improve the customer experience by making it easier to find more relevant products, expand the feature set to account for Pro needs and add a dashboard to the homepage.
What You’ll Do
Create research study plans & roadmaps based on stakeholder research questions and hypothesis (20%)
Develop the associated screeners, moderator guides, and survey questions related to the research study plan (10%)
Collect tactical customer data through 1:1 interviews and remote unmoderated testing protocols. Analyze, summarize and present research findings. (35%)
Collect strategic generative customer data through interviews conducted in homes, in the lab and using teleconferencing software. Analyze, summarize and present research findings. (35%)
Nature and Scope
Position reports to the Manager, User Experience for Company website
No direct reports.
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
5+ year’s experience (7-10 preferred) in user research, survey/customer feedback strategy, and other related disciplines (e-commerce experience preferred)
Master’s degree in HCI or related field
End-to-end experience with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Experience with a variety of research methods including but not limited to: Contextual Inquiry, ethnography, empathy mapping, brainstorming, thinking strategically, personas, journey maps, card sorting, surveys, storytelling, moderated usability testing, & unmoderated usability testing. Eye tracking and stats are a bonus.
E-commerce experience, and familiarity with testing across channels, mobile, desktop, and physical stores to understand the multichannel experience.
Strong communication, presentation, organization, time management and interpersonal skills
Proven ability working in fast paced environment with shifting priorities while managing tactical deliverables and meeting deadlines
