Company is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Storage Administrator to join our team in Charlotte, NC or Broomfield, CO. to begin an exciting and challenging career with our enterprise. This role will have responsibility for the operational management of all centralized storage technologies. This includes the various NAS environments, storage networks, back-up environments and all other technologies classified as a storage technology. In addition, they will provide support to the SAN/NAS global team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Monitor and maintain operational aspects for the Enterprise SAN and SAN arrays; network attached storage (NAS), and Object storage technology in a mission critical business environment
Collaborate with various vendors to maintain equipment including firmware, service packs, security patches, etc. to ensure the maximum performance, security and availability of systems
Configure and install NetWorker customer software on UNIX, Linux and Windows systems
Perform activities related to install, configure and managing SAN devices and fiber switches
Administer Brocade director FC switches as well as blade chassis FC devices
Execute FC zoning for development and production storage volumes
Manage NetApp snapshot and recovery methods for storage volumes, add and update shares, increase space, add access authority and participate in NAS migrations
Execute across-site replication of significant DR data, perform disaster recovery SAN and NAS activities.
Perform volume replication and monitor overnight jobs and execute improvements, conducting evaluation reviews on capacity and threshold levels to identify performance issues.
Oversee IO performance of production along with development of databases LUNs, ensure backup methods are in place as well as tested for FC LUNs
Collaborate with DBAs, Operations, and Server Administration to assure apt storage usage
Install, configure as well as maintain storage hardware backup inclusive of physical plus virtual tape libraries or drives along with disk storage targets, add and remove zoning.
Five (5) years’ experience administering storage area networks, specializing in EMC Storage, NetApp storage systems and back-up systems
Two (2) years hands-on experience with Brocade Fiber Channel switches
Foundational understanding of Network cable mediums, optical fiber cable and connectivity types
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in storage network (SAN, NAS, NFS, CIFS or object storage)
Ability to use a Graphic User Interface (GUI) and operate a Command Line Interface (CLI) on a Linux or UNIX OS
Foundational knowledge of EMC VMAX, Isilon, Hitachi USPV, VSP and HNAS
Ability to rotate on-call support when required (i.e. evening hours or weekends)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related field
Storage Administrator Certification
NetApp Certified Data Administrator
Experience with Cloud Computing such as AWS, Azure or Google
Experience with ServiceNow or other incident/change ticketing systems
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
