At Company we continually look for opportunities to invent on behalf of our customers helping them to discover virtually anything they want to buy online. To this end we are building a range of display and search advertising products that enhance customer experience and are integrated with our core eCommerce platform. We are just getting started but can see our way to building a large and impactful business making a significant contribution to the Company flywheel.
A strategically important part of our charter is to enable thousands of advertisers with effective, easy to manage display advertising available via self-service tools. These program will enable advertisers to drive discoverability and demand for their brand and products. We are looking for a visionary product manager to define the insights, analytics and reporting vision and built out a suite of core products enabling flexible user-experiences across locations, tool sets and advertiser types. You will work closely with engineering, marketing and operations teams to find the right balance between protecting customer experience, enabling advertisers and internal teams to scale with the business.
This is a new team and while there are many things we can do, the full strategy and roadmap is a green field. The successful candidate must have exceptional problem solving skills, strong business judgment, and demonstrated experience leading through influence on initiatives that involve multiple cross-functional teams. Ideally, you will have experience building successful business strategies/plans, leading customer, business, and technical tradeoffs, and managing through influence. We are looking for a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically, and someone who is excited to take on a new, ambitious, and ambiguous project.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Develop product vision and strategy by working backwards from the customer
- Manage products through initial launch and follow-on releases
- Identifying dependencies and clear blockers
- Write business cases and produce financial models for key strategic projects
- Provide in-depth market, industry, and opportunity analysis
- Own the process for understanding customer needs
- Lead through influence the team building out product requirements, doing the engineering to deliver on requirements, as well as working with marketing to ensure advertisers adopt features
- Define the success metrics for features or services and track performance
- Manage partner relationships and ongoing programs
- Ensure strong support for the advertiser experience in end-to-end operations
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- A passionate advocate for customers and their needs
- 7+ years software, technology, program or product management experience preferably with internet business experience;
- 5+ years Product Management experience
- Track record of completing medium to large-scale projects from initiation to delivery
- Ability to establish and manage projects and initiatives against a set of key metrics and goals
- Demonstrated experience using testing methods (A/B, focus groups) to evolve products and/or marketing campaign performance
- Strong analytical, project management and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities: must effectively communicate with technical and non-technical people
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; owner mentality and an entrepreneurial drive; demonstrated ability to have fun and inspire team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- An MBA or advanced degree is preferred
- 3+ years experience in online advertising or web-based technologies
- Passionate about generating big, creative ideas to differentiate in the market, growing the business and working with advertisers and agencies to build innovative products
- Analytical and able to create sound business arguments backed up by data
- Ability to lead and influence across different organizations and align diverse teams to a common goal
- Handle multiple contending priorities in an energizing environment
- Willing to think and act both strategically and tactically
