Partners with suppliers, merchants, corporate planners and production teams to create and manage a capacity plan that allows for an efficient production schedule to support quality, on-time and cost objectives of Company, while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels.
Supports Sr. Director in championing agility and responsiveness models and strategies including establishing new production lead-time targets and KPI's, Go-to-Market timeline reduction strategies, expanding the global scope of decoupling and postponement strategies e.g. vendor managed inventory (VMI), vendor-mill location and fabric platforming strategies, and streamlining and reducing planning cycle times from forecast to execution
Support Sr. Director in driving initiatives related to inventory management, lead-time reduction, on-time delivery and responsiveness.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base opportunities to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize industry developments that benefit Company
Understand forecasting, demand planning, material/supply/inventory planning, and manufacturing processes/capacity to verify supply commitments
Develop and support Supply Chain Planning system to help manage all production forecasting, constraint planning and promising, WIP transparency and order scheduling
Implement and maintain inventory strategies for finished goods by regular review and optimization of supply planning parameters (Ex. Reorder points, safety stock, ABC categorization, MOQ)
Work with cross-functional teams to manage & maintain relevant Master Data in a central location while ensuring accuracy of key planning outputs. (e.g. capacities, lead-times, production minimums, transportation lead-times
Develop tools and process to optimize both capacity utilization and cost savings opportunities with vendor partners
Represent Global Supply Chain in global S&OP meetings
Optimizing the balance of inventory across the supply chain network in line with target customer service levels, inventory, and safety stock levels for an allocated portfolio of SKUs for which accountable
Manage supply buffers and allocation to shorten lead times and build resiliency into the supply chain without driving excess
Drive supplier improvement initiatives to continually lower risk and reduce lead times
Influence suppliers' manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations
Direct category production planners to conduct regular business and performance reviews related to demand and supply with internal stakeholders.
Manage the potential obsolescence to minimize material liabilities and drive Root Cause Problem Solving and action planning/execution to reduce liabilities and write-offs
Measure supply planning KPIs in an effort to improve and/or maintain business objectives as it pertains to the S&OP organization
Drives a supply planning process that is reliable, optimal, automated, and ultimately world class
Establish trust and credibility with the merchandising, regional sales, and planning teams to ensure commitment to S&OP principles and program effectiveness
Implement SAP, technology and process improvements that improve OTIF and planning capability
BA/BS required; 7-10 years of experience in production planning. Past experience in retail, CPG, or athletic industries is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advanced Excel skills, ability to run Macros. SAP systems knowledge preferred. Working knowledge of PowerPoint
Experience creating databases a plus (e.g. Airtable, Tableau)
Excellent analytical skills; have the ability to crunch data and draw conclusions
Ability to work cross-functionally internally and externally; multi-task at all times
Must be detailed oriented but also able to embrace ambiguity
Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail
Strong communication skills verbally and ability to present effectively in meetings
Have passion for both numbers and products
