The GCB/BB Credit Finance team is responsible for supporting forecasting, quarterly and monthly financial reporting, and other analysis for the Commercial and Business Banking Wholesale Credit businesses.
In this role, the team engages often with Wholesale Credit executives, as well as GCB/BB senior leadership, and is expected to work collaboratively across the Global Banking Finance team. This role provides opportunities to understand both the mechanics of reporting and specific drivers, but challenges the teammate to aggregate key story lines, messages, and themes. In this role, you will gain awareness of and be expected to articulate how current business strategies and goals can be achieved in current market conditions / macroeconomic environment. This role is predominantly focused on the revenue-generating side of the GCB/BB credit businesses, but will have exposure to expenses as a key finance partner supporting the recently announced Wholesale Credit Centralized Commercial Credit delivery centers. This role includes direct partnership with Wholesale Credit executives and thus requires a candidate with strong communication (written and oral) and business partnering skills.
Key Responsibilities and Competencies:
Weekly and monthly reporting, which includes identifying client drivers, as well as themes within regions or specific groups of Commercial and Business Banking.
Quarterly Investor Relations (IR) routines including articulating key messages regarding current, past, and expected business performance.
Ownership of credit forecast, which requires collaboration with line-of-business Finance partners, GL expertise, and compiling presentation materials. Includes exposure to and involvement in CCAR and EST routines.
Key partner to various ad-hoc analyses (Wholesale Credit pricing strategy work, standardization of products, business case development)
Must be able to deal with imperfect data and still draw conclusions and recommendations
Able to communicate concepts and ideas both verbally and in written form
Can work independently when necessary, prioritizing tasks towards multiple objectives
Can work across many different stakeholders (e.g. Finance, LoB) and communicate effectively
Responsible for more complex finance activities involving implementation of strategic plans, profitability analysis, forecasting and financial reporting for a business unit or associate area. Supports achievement of business goals by working on more complex activities or projects with others within the unit and with partners. Leads projects and coordinates resources. May provide supervision to a small staff. Can manage partner relationships.
