Sr. Analyst, Logistics Finance

The purpose of this role is to support the Logistics finance and operations organizations, and to help drive financial savings for distribution centers and other Third Party DC’s as applicable. The person in this position should have a level of experience and education in both accounting and finance that will allow them to manage current financial and inventory reporting requirements. He/she serves as one of the key liaisons between Business Controllers, Logistics finance directors, and Accounting/Corporate Finance.
Monitor and manage third party expenses for warehouse costs and accrue expenses as needed at month end.
Prepare or assist with other monthly journal entries as needed.
Assist in Preparation of the Monthly Operations Report’s (MORs) for North America 3PL (Third Party Logistics), DCs, including D&W (Distribution & Warehousing), DC statistics, allocations, results analysis, EBIT results, CapEx.
Analyze of fixed cost variance to prepare action plan for future risks/opportunities.
Strive for continuous improvement in month-end reporting capabilities.
Refine or develop cost models to support monthly reporting.
Assist with preparation of annual budgets and periodic estimates.
Maintain D&W cost trackers including PO support creation for sites.
Create and manage distributor prices for Prestige items; and cost labels and standard costs for Kohl’s items.
Prepare the monthly scrap reclass entry, reconcile, analyze, and report on scrap activity.
Prepare/assist SSC with PPV capitalization schedules
Support SOX controls and inventory management including participation in physical inventories.
Min. 3 years of Financial Analysis or Accounting Experience
ERP Experience required
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related business field
Special Skills Required:
Ability to show strong attention to detail, work independently and organize work efficiently
Solid understanding of financial principals related to the P&L and Balance Sheets
Strong knowledge of all financial processes related to the general ledger finance system.
Accounting experience preparing and posting journal entries.
Thorough understanding of reporting systems and processes
Budget and forecast management knowledge a plus.
Strong organization skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experienced in providing timely and accurate information for decision making.
Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis
Ability to successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands, anticipate work needs and take initiative to follow through with clients and others with minimum direction
Excellent computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office Excel and Word
Proven experience using data driven problem solving techniques
Ability to automate reporting & analysis through advanced Excel formulas such as pivot tables preferred
Ability to extract data from cost system by creating custom queries that require multiple tables preferred
SAP experience strongly preferred
