Job Summary:
Responsible for planning and conducting community investment programs that are designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for the company. Prepares information regarding the organization through newspapers, periodicals, television and radio and other forms of media. Assists in coordinating projects related to media initiatives, community involvement, and employee communications. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.
Core Responsibilities:
• Reports monthly reconciliation of budget-related expenses and budget variances.
• Evaluates, compiles, and distributes company and industry news media coverage.
• Develops news media initiatives.
• Plans development and communication of information designed to keep public informed of company programs, accomplishments, or point of view.
• Facilitates community investment efforts in order to meet needs, objectives, and policies of individual, special interest group, business concern, nonprofit organization, or governmental agencies.
• Researches data, suggests ideas, and contacts media representatives.
• Coordinates corporate communications with product personnel to retrieve product information or other special marketing requirements.
• Writes and coordinates distribution of community press releases.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Specification:
• Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
• Communications / Public Relations
• Generally requires 2-5 years related experience
