We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture Organization at Company. You will actively help design and code our core platform of microservices for a Commerce as a Service offering and assist with the mentoring of our foundational platform of Kubernetes, Istio, and more. Responsibilities

• Understand and influence the adoption of evolving Microservices in the global commerce platform
• Participate and provide inputs to governance mechanisms
• Evaluate and select platform technologies and open-source components to enable platform build-out and solve engineering problems
• Work in an agile environment and participate in conceptualizing and implementing platform features for our global web properties
• Provide design directives to other software engineers, including how to construct and integrate software components in order to meet all functional and non-functional requirements
• Work in our highly collaborative environment both in-person near to Union Station and remotely, with occasional travel to San Francisco area

Requirements

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Math or related field
• 7-10 years or more of total experience
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
• Ability to organize unstructured information with attention to detail
• The ability to prioritize in a mixed-paced environment
• General Experience with Agile methodologies
• Hands-on experience with Java, Go, or Company website
• Hands-on experience with application security standards and best practices
• Hands-on experience with the development of Microservices
• Hands-on experience with Domain Driven Design concepts
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL data stores and other polyglot persistence (Couchbase, Cassandra, etc..)
• Advanced knowledge of distributed systems architecture and cloud technologies
• Advanced knowledge of performance tuning, threading and modularization

Preferred Skills

• Advanced knowledge of Java 8/9, Spring and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, Spring Security, etc..)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and emerging technologies like Istio
• Experience with automation technologies such as Jenkins, GoCD, etc.
• Experience building software platforms using best-of-breed vendor and open source frameworks
• Knowledge of software operationalization
