The Software Engineer is responsible for development of software in support of our multiple lines of business, game teams, and employees. You will be working with members of the design team and engineering team to help create interactive prototypes and custom software solutions for mobile, tablets, desktop, and web applications.
The ideal candidate will have successfully delivered robust solutions and thrives in an environment where there is a need for collaboration and shared interest in finding the best possible solution. Responsibilities
• Closely collaborate with software engineers, database engineers, designers, program management, and quality assurance to ensure solutions are delivered efficiently and effectively.
• Drive software projects from inception, development, implementation, QA, launch, and ongoing support
• Gain the respect of the team as well as other stakeholders within the business, game teams, and other partners in the organization
• Effectively communicate ideas, issues, status, and outcomes with the team and other people in the organization
• Regularly send out status updates and reports
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and coaching to junior members of the team
• Be an advocate for documentation and ensure the team adheres to the documentation policy
• Assist in promoting a positive engineering, design, and team culture
Requirements
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Artistic sense for high aesthetic graphics, UI, composition, and typography
• Knowledge of prototyping and design tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Axure, InVision, Sketch, etc.
• Working knowledge of design patterns
• Experience working in high-performing teams throughout the entire software development lifecycle
• Working knowledge and recent experience with modern software frameworks, testing frameworks, and best practices
• Experience designing software, debugging, and performance tuning applications
• Working knowledge of software development methodologies such as waterfall, agile, lean, XP, etc.
• Strong communication skills
• Obsessive about delivering and following through
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
Pluses
• Experience with Relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience with mobile development (iOS, Android, etc.)
• Knowledge of modern UI frameworks
• Knowledge of cross platform mobile frameworks
