The Social Creative lead will play an essential role in the social marketing department. They will be responsible for overseeing their team, developing creative guidelines and directing evergreen creative work for Company’s social channels. This person will report into the VP of social marketing but often work with our head of creative in the brand team.
We need an expert in all facets of the creative process — and the creative industry — in order to produce the best work. The social creative lead also must be a great leader with the ability to maximize the talents of their team. Doing so means being a coach, a teacher, an instructor, and a critic all at once. You will need to directly with copywriters, graphic designers, web designers, account managers, brand managers and other marketers on a daily basis.
What You’ll Do:
• Develop concepts for social marketing concepts for always on calendar
• Pitch ideas internally in social team or present to broader marketing teams
• Negotiate with stakeholders to amend ideas in line with best practice and explain what is and is not possible
• Keep stakeholders abreast of progress and answer their questions Storyboard or translate ideas to the creative team of art directors and designers
• Lead multiple projects from conception to completion in accordance with deadlines
• Evaluate and, if necessary alter, the content of projects before completion
• Hire, develop and manage the creative team
• Ensure all the organisations visuals are consistent with the overall brand
• Steer or write scripts
• Sign off projects before they are presented
Who you are:
• You possess 4-6 years experience working in the social advertising industry, social marketing or design sectors.
• BA in graphic design, fine arts, visual communication, typography or a related subject is often required. A postgraduate degree in these subjects can be an advantage.
• An intimate understanding of the social social media landscape, social channels, social tech, social paid media and social analytics.
• A real passion for creative work in all forms, but particularly digital / viral trending content
• Creativity skills: First and foremost you must excel at creating concepts for others to work on. They must have a keen awareness of current trends in social, advertising and graphic design.
• Communication and presentation skills: They need excellent communication (written and verbal) and confident presentation skills in order to pitch ideas internally and also explain their ideas to members of their creative team.
• Interpersonal skills: Excellent interpersonal skills are a must. They need a clear creative vision while remaining open to others’ ideas.
• Leadership skills: Creative directors need leadership skills in order to hire, develop and oversee their social creative team.
• Digital and graphic design skills: Extensive knowledge of graphic design and relevant software is vital. Familiarity with film-making techniques is very useful. Video editing, copywriting and HTML skills are usually needed.
• Supervisory experience, including leadership, team-building and delegation
