Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Job Duties: Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Work closely with business analysts, architects, quality and engineers on features and take them from conception to deployment. Design solutions to problems within the payments, entitlements and eCommerce space. Implement and test these solutions and perform code review. Support the release process and participate in performance testing and build engineering. Perform application security reviews. Design distributed architecture solutions to handle scaling problems. Implement solutions to handle transaction volumes at scale. Drive the development team towards sound and pragmatic development processes. Responsible for refining potentially vague concepts and producing software that will meet known business needs, anticipating future requirements from the business. Work on significant and unique issues that require technical responsibility/influence on code of medium size or complexity. Inspire feedback from team and use this information to form and apply judgment. Create formal networks involving coordination among groups, and participate in building project schedule. Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. May provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
Special Requirements: Following skills must have been gained through at least 6 years of experience as specified:
1) Creating REST-based Application Programming Interfaces (APIs);
2) SOAP, Amazon Web Services (AWS) deployment and REST easy Framework;
3) Order management/capture, billing and finance modules in SAP and/or Oracle Enterprise resource planning (ERP);
4) Open application servers and frameworks;
5) Java Enterprise Edition/full-stack;
6) High-availability, scalable and secure applications;
7) Enterprise Java Beans (EJB);
8) Servlets;
9) Java Database Connectivity (JDBC);
10) JMS or other MQ;
11) MySQL or other relational database management system (RDBMS);
12) Front end technologies such as JSP, JSTL, HTML, Java Script and Java Script frameworks (jQuery, Company website, Company website);
13) Unit Test frameworks such as JUnit, TestNg, Mockito; and
14) Software Security aspects (oAuth, OpenId, HMAC).
