Voice-driven AI experiences are finally becoming a reality and Company’s Alexa cloud service and Echo devices are at the forefront of this latest technology wave. The Alexa organization delivers world-class, cutting edge products on aggressive schedules that are used every day. At the same time, we obsess about customer trust and ensure that we build products in a manner that maintains our high bar for customer privacy. The Alexa Privacy team is building products and mechanisms to earn and maintain customer trust globally. We are the team chartered to safeguard customers’ expectations on trust and privacy across all Alexa experiences.
You will define and influence how Alexa’s feature are built with Privacy forward thinking, working with product and engineering teams from the earliest stages of product conception. You will work with product leaders across Alexa, as well as Legal, and Public Relations. The influence you bring will shape key product decisions that enable the creation of customer-obsessed, privacy sensitive products.
We're looking for someone with experience building products in a privacy-sensitive space. You will have already led medium/large product development efforts, and be comfortable with both the CX and technical aspects. You will be able to deal with ambiguity, find innovative solutions to difficult problems, and escalate key risks to leadership. You can quickly grasp product design and its privacy risks, understanding CX implications of cutting-edge product experiences. You thrive when contributing to cross-functional challenges, including business, legal, public relations or marketing side of a product. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, and seek data-driven decision-making. Above all, you are passionate about the team's charter, the Alexa product, and protecting customer trust.
Evaluating and shaping cutting-edge Alexa products by mitigating Privacy risks
Shaping teams’ product decisions, mitigating risks to customer trust – at scale across the Alexa org.
Building strong working relationships with technical and non-technical teams involved with privacy (Legal, PR, Product engineering, etc.).
Maintain a broad understanding of the global privacy landscape impacting Alexa/Company.
Note: You will not be responsible for the full life-cycle of a specific product, but rather guide and influence all Alexa products and services.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical discipline.
6+ years of product management, product development, or business consulting.
A history of translating customer insight into recommendations that customers love to act on.
Entrepreneurial instincts with a clear bias for informed action and a track record of leading new initiatives with limited resources and support.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data (including SQL) and metrics to back up assumptions evaluate outcomes and challenge conventional wisdom.
Success when working across a range of teams, including Engineering, Research, UX, Legal, Finance, and Marketing.
Knowledgeable in technology development best practices (such as Agile), and product management methodology
Excellent written and verbal communications across technical and non-technical stakeholders and experience presenting to very senior executives
Experience working successfully in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Experience with information security, privacy frameworks, and/or compliance requirements.
Masters degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical discipline.
Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills.
Experience building processes and project management.
Track record of shipping products with a voice interface and proven business value. (not mandatory)
