We are looking for senior PM leader to drive forward the launch of the new AWS events service. The service is built AWS native utilizing AWS services like AWS Lambda, Company Cognito, Company Elasticsearch, and more.

As a product management leader, you will be part of the larger technical leadership community at AWS. This community forms the backbone of the company, plays a critical role in the broad business planning, working closely with senior executives to develop business targets and resource requirements, influences our long-term technical and business strategy, helps us hire talented teams of product managers and ultimately enables us to deliver innovative new solutions rapidly.
This position represents a unique and rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor within a fast-growing business and help shape the technology, product and the business. A successful candidate will bring deep technical and cloud service expertise, strong business acumen and judgment, ability to define visionary, ground breaking products, desire to have an industry wide impact and ability to work within a fast moving, startup environment in a large company to rapidly deliver services that have a broad business impact.
In this role you will drive and influence the roadmap, build deep understanding of our customers’ needs, define product requirements, collaborate with engineering and champion the needs of customers participating in AWS. Given the breadth of the service we are building, this role requires coordination across internal AWS teams and external teams. You work with customers, partners, and operational stakeholders to prioritize road map features, and spearhead the definition of new capabilities through expertly crafted narratives and working backward documents.
The ideal candidate has exceptional problem-solving skills, sound business judgment, and demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams. You have a proven ability executing both strategically and tactically, and are excited to take on a new, ambiguous that will be industry defining. An engineering background is required to effectively communicate and work with engineers.
This role is in Seattle. Relocation assistance within the US.
5+ years in product leadership roles; product management, product design, and product development life cycle from conception to delivery
5+ years of relevant work experience in taking new products to the market
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other relevant fields
Direct experience with managing product roadmaps; able to adjust processes and mechanisms to the needs of a product
Ability to conceptualize, scope and execute projects to strict deadlines.
2+ years of prior experience working with AWS technologies/services
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with technology products a plus
Experience in high-tech products/services preferred
Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment · Strong problem-solving skills
Confident leader who can prioritize and analyze trade-offs, communicate clearly and compellingly and effectively influence internally and externally, across organization boundaries. Able to independently influence and resolve conflicts with others
Analytical skills to understand customer use-cases, and challenge assumptions while working harmoniously with the business and technology owners
Experienced in gathering requirements and developing system specifications
Ability to apply critical thinking in complex situations; experience working in cross functional groups including SW engineering, networking, and infrastructure
A strong track record of executing in dynamic and fast-paced environments
Highly experienced with -driven decision making
Cross-organizational communication – comfortable evangelizing ideas and concerns clearly and persuasively, in both verbal and written form
Confident, self-motivated individual with strong, demonstrable bias for action
