JOB BRIEF (PURPOSE): The Middle Office Senior Annuity Specialist performs daily settlement for all annuity business. The employee will handle escalated issues regarding all facets of annuity operations (linking, transfers, NIGO issues, commissions, etc.). The employee will provide general assistance related to annuities to the KIS home office and its sales force.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform daily settlement functions with insurance carriers. Balance and reconcile firm accounts, submit reports to KIS’s clearing firm, and wire funds to carriers.
- Ensure that all annuity policies are issued correctly at the insurance carriers. Research and resolve issues with insurance carriers related to KIS customer policies and pending business.
- Handle any funds returned from insurance carriers, adjust customer accounts, and request commission adjustments
- Liaison between KIS and its annuity processing vendor (AnnuityNet)
- Provide assistance to the KIS sales force with regards to annuity processing
MARGINAL OR PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS:
- Review annuity business submitted by KIS Financial Advisors and Company Licensed Relationship Managers.
- Understand annuity position linking and serve as a liaison between the insurance carriers and KIS’s clearing firm.
- Perform follow up on pending annuity transfers
- Project involvement, as needed
- Participate and lead training sessions related to annuity processing for KIS home office, KIS FAs and/or KIS LRMs, as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Overall knowledge of securities industry and brokerage operations
- Strong skills in problem solving, decision making, time management, delegation, ability to meet deadlines and maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build relationships across Company as well as throughout KIS’s vendor relationships.
- Ability to lead and participate in projects impacting or involving the KIS Middle Office
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in insurance/annuity products
- Life & Health Insurance license
