Our emerging technologies team, within Company’s Device organization (Company Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, and more), is looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented individuals to join our fast paced, start-up environment to help invent the future. We solve significant customer problems in the consumer electronics space through devices, mobile applications, cloud services (AWS), computer vision, and machine learning.
As a leader and manager of the team, you will be working with business partners, software and hardware development managers, QAEs and SDETs to design, implement automation frameworks, define test strategy, test complex software applications and SDKs, manage build tools and systems. You will be a quality advocate within the organization.
You will be responsible for developing career plans for managers, software development engineers in test, and quality assurance engineers reporting to you. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product. You will learn a variety of cutting-edge technologies, development processes, and develop well-rounded skills such as leadership, and effective project management.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience as a manager of quality assurance teams, including mentoring, coaching, career planning and delivering.
10 + years of industry experience.
8+ years of hands-on testing or test automation.
Experience managing and creating test automation frameworks.
Experience implementing Quality Assurance best practices pertaining to test definition, requirements tracking, and test automation.
Experience with black box and grey box testing methodologies.
Experience with standard QA and development tools.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering
Ability to operate within short release cycles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of working effectively with Development Engineering and other functions.
Creativity and initiative to improve product coverage and effectiveness.
Excellent communication and analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems.
Strong people management skills, with a proven ability to hire and grow talented programmatic and user-level personnel.
