We now have an opportunity for a Senior Manager Governance, Risk and Compliance to join the team. You will report directly to the Group Compliance Officer and support her in the implementation and ongoing management of Company Nature’s Compliance Program and Risk Management processes. This role has an international scope and will require around 20% of time to be spent travelling.
Our Compliance, Risk and Compliance team is responsible for key areas including -
• Our code of conduct
• Anti-bribery and corruption
• Anti-trust
• Data privacy and protecting confidential information
• Annual Risk Assessment Processes
• Supply Chain Due Diligence Processes
Responsibilities
• Support the Group Compliance Officer in managing the day-to-day operation of the Compliance Program and Risk Management processes including:
• Acting as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the organisation are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
• Responding to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and the Code of Conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures. Supporting a system for the uniform handling of such violations.
• Monitoring the performance and effectiveness of the Group Compliance Program on a continuing basis and taking appropriate steps to improve its design and effectiveness where required. This may include carrying out onsite compliance implementation reviews either independently or co-ordinated with the Company Nature Internal Audit program.
• Assisting in the preparation of management reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep the Company Nature Board and senior management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts.
• Developing, maintaining and revising relevant and proportionate Group Compliance policies and supporting procedures to mitigate the occurrence of illegal, unethical or improper conduct.
• Identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; developing/implementing corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and providing general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
• Formally documenting, communicating and refreshing the Company Nature risk assessment periodically.
• Contributing to regular group communications
Experience, skills and qualifications
• University degree and/or professional qualification essential; legal or accountancy qualifications an advantage
• Internal or external audit/review experience
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to apply these skills at all levels of the organisation and with key external stakeholders as required
• Ability to generate and deliver concise, timely reports to stakeholders, including those in senior positions, regarding ethics & compliance risks, the ethics & compliance programme, and required action related to both
• Understanding of and the ability to apply good practice regarding the key components of an ethics & compliance programme
• Strong work ethic and creative ability to achieve identified goals, both individually and as a team player, in a global function
• Ability to use project management skills to build, maintain, execute, and monitor detailed project plans to enhance the ethics & compliance programme
• Anticipates issues and opportunities and responds with appropriate, risk-aware and cost-driven solutions
• Structured problem solver - able to logically breakdown complex and ambiguous problems into component parts and recommend pragmatic solutions
• Ability to use analytical skills to identify trends and themes regarding ethics & compliance risks from a wide variety of data sources and action necessary to address these
• Ability to translate complexity into simple and understandable policies, procedures and guidance
• Ability to provide critical insight and to effectively progress the Group ethics and compliance agenda both internally and externally
