We are looking for a Sr Manager, Global Logistics and Transportation to join the OpsTech Supply Chain Team. The position is located in Nashville, TN but will have Global responsibility for establishing the network plan and design of our asset deployment network.
As an integral part of the Company OpsTech IT team, the Sr Manager, Global Logistics is responsible for the design, development, implementation and execution of our Global logistics network. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the Transportation strategy, being accountable for strategic imperatives and continually identifying operational, service, and process improvements in relation to customer experience enhancement in a cost effective environment. The OpsTech IT Team supports over 2000 sites with inventory strategically placed in 13 asset deployment sites. The Senior Manager, Global Logistics will work internally with Sort Centers, Delivery Stations, Supply Chain, Operations, RAD, Customer Solutions, Procurement and Finance teams and externally with service providers, offering business and logistics expertise to ensure optimal delivery of service solutions.
Create new and manage existing domestic and international air, ground, ocean and rail connections to the highest degree of cost effectiveness and reliability.
Manage a team of Specialists and Program Managers, operating 24/7 across multiple geographies
Develop emerging organizations in specialist transportation and logistics fields
Manage the business relationships with carriers across all modes spanning resolution of operational issues to supporting commercial and contractual negotiations.
-Bring in Company owned capacity to create an optimized logistics network where every site supported can be reached via air or ground in <48 hours.
Cross-functional work with the Supply Chain, RAD, Material Management and the entire OpsTech IT organizations to determine future demand for Transportation and Logistics resources. Translate the aforementioned into accurate capacity plans.
Ensure up to date and accurate statistics, management reports and analysis are available and maintained.
Work across the Globe in a cross-functional environment, developing new teams in each new market area.
Interfaces and coordinates and leads activity with Operations Managers and Process Operations Managers to develop and manage change.
Liaison and collaboration with external partners, negotiating, creating and maintaining relationships for sourcing of all capacity.
-Be the in house SME for new technologies and provide guidance and best practice for handhelds on dock, road, and systems.
-Assist in developing strategic plans for inventory management and centroid plans to manage tying directly into logistics networks to support origin and destination pairs with reduced lead times and reliability.
-Minimum of 15 years experience in international Logistics & Supply Chain operations both in asset and asset light management roles
Assist in enhancing competitive advantage/ customer experience where they relate to Transportation and Logistics network design.
Good understanding of Transportation Logistics network management and how to improve Customer Service while increasing efficiency and reducing lead time and cost.
Be the catalyst of change rather than maintain the status quo and to bring about change via relationship management skills rather than merely through technical excellence.
Understanding of analytical simulations and assessments.
Planning and Organizing: Able to evaluate priorities appropriately; apt at resolving conflict and able communicates intentions clearly; delivering within time constraints.
Strong inter-personal and relationship-building skills.
Decision Making/ Problem Solving- Proactively gathers the right data from appropriate sources, probes/considers all of the facts, takes into account other perspectives; conducts root cause.
Presentation skills; excellent written & well-polished verbal communication skills; presence and ability to think on his/ her feet
In-depth knowledge of operating and analysis tools; solution driven approach to system and process; advanced computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word); Data-warehouse analysis
Fluent in English
Post Graduate Programme (PGP) qualification or equivalent in Management of Operations/Logistics
High dependability and ownership – be prepared to roll his/her sleeves up, if necessary
Must be flexible and able to manage a business that can operate 24/7 (including holidays) and commit the time required to get the job done.
Demonstrates an ability to manage, motivate, and influence employees and partners
-Actively creates strategy, implements change and drives results due to innovation and automation
Master’s level degree, MBA or higher preferred or equivalent in years experience
Experience of SQL and data-driven decision making skills
15+ years within fast moving international companies renowned for their state-of-the-art Supply Chain and Logistics practice such as distribution, retail, as well as any other state of the art Supply Chain/Logistics industrial company.
A C-level leadership position held prior in the Supply Chain or Transportation function
Demonstrated experience of successfully driving complex, milestone driven projects and carrying out changes across multi-country entities, having a proven track record in improving the Supply Chain, having designed advanced Supply Chain processes, implemented state-of-the-art Supply Chain/Logistics tools
-Previous experience implementing software tools to drive supply chain processes, new logistics networks and partnering with third parties where needed to ensure speed to delivery.
