Position Title: Sr. Manager Distribution Transformation
Department: NISCO Distribution and Transportation
Reports To: NISCO Director Distribution and Transportation Transformation
Company launched the Accelerated Transformation Plan to transform to a simpler, stronger and faster global consumer goods company, with portfolio best positioned to leverage its advantaged capabilities in product design, innovation and e-commerce. To support the Plan and its focus on Supply Chain transformation, the Newell Integrated Supply Chain Optimization team is currently being created. This team will operate as central support across all Newell Divisions. This team will drive the Supply Chain Optimization by identifying and deploying best practices and executing projects in close collaboration with Division Supply Chain teams.
The Sr. Manager will be responsible for initiating and implementing Distribution strategies and action plans in support of continuous improvement and the Company’s strategic objectives. This person will lead distribution work stream projects for Company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as a change agent to lead change and innovation within distribution and transportation environments.
Develop consistent and meaningful metrics across entire Company Distribution network.
Create standards for cost to serve by business and by customer.
Initiate and manage DC process improvements and best practices driving improved OTIF and key customer and productivity metrics.
Identify, design, and justify automated processes with proper ROI to improve distribution throughput and cost to serve.
Provide Distribution analysis and educated advice for industry trends and opportunities.
Act as a liaison between NISCO and the business DC Leaders earning trust and influencing decisions to enable best practice implementation.
Project manage large complex initiatives giving direction to team members and leadership in a matrix environment.
Work with multiple divisions balancing short term objectives and long term strategy.
Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Logistics/Supply Chain Management or other relevant degree.
10+ years’ leadership experience in a distribution and transportation environment.
Experience leading contract engineering teams with proven results.
Proven results in Distribution process improvement.
Ability to lead cross functional teams.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Operational Practice using Lean Thinking and Principles.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Significant travel is required.
