Internet Essentials is Company’s signature community impact initiative, designed to help close the digital divide through affordable broadband service, low-cost computers, and digital literacy training, online, in print, and in-person. The Senior Manager for Internet Essentials Communications and Events will be responsible for managing the day-to-day internal and external outreach and relationships for the corporate Internet Essentials team.
As one of Company’s key Values initiatives, Internet Essentials is included in all components of the company’s external voice. The Senior Manager for Communications and Events will be responsible for: serving as the corporate liaison to regional/divisional teams in executive event planning; providing support for outreach and communications functions including speech writing, talking points, and FAQs; developing and executing strategies for raising awareness on a national and local scale and around sponsorships; tracking communications activities, engagement, and event outcomes to ensure all efforts support and align with our program strategy; and developing customer relationships for the press. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for social media engagement, helping to inform strategy and track results, in collaboration with the Corporate Communications teams.
Supports the Senior Director for Strategic Communications and Research in organizing and preparing public-facing materials, updating various media tactics and tools, and preparing external communications for the program.
Supports the Strategic Communications and Research in data tracking, communications best practices, and strategic planning.
Develops a KPI-driven social media strategy to foster program growth and drive awareness.
Creates and drafts visually compelling narratives for internal and external audiences.
Develops a strategic vision for social media within the Internet Essentials program and collaborates with Corporate Communications to execute on that vision.
Develops and maintains a tracking system to evaluate alignment between the program’s communications and events activities and our strategic plan.
Works cross functionally to develop a calendar of signature and non-signature events where Internet Essentials can be leveraged.
Works cross functionally to executes on strategies and tactics to elevate the Company brand at high-profile conferences, conventions, museums, etc. and in the media.
Manages planning and logistics for Internet Essentials signature events, including but not limited to advanced team visits, speaker preparation, event materials, stakeholder engagement, and support for local teams.
Manages administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, briefings, and developing materials specific to event planning.
Serves as a liaison for other Company initiatives/projects involving Internet Essentials and community impact priorities centered on closing the digital divide.
Works with the Senior Manager of Employee Engagement and Partnerships in promoting, organizing, and growing the Internet Essentials Employee Ambassadors program.
Works with the Senior Manager of Employee Engagement and Partnerships in strengthening relationships with national organizations, and provides timely information regarding Internet Essentials program updates.
Works with the Senior Manager of Communications and Brand to develop employee, customer, and partner testimonials that can be shared via a variety of media.
Develops and maintains a network of internal resources and external partners (educators, community partners, government officials) that will help execute the Internet Essentials vision and strategy.
Provides general project management support for the program’s vice president when rolling out operational program enhancements and changes.
Provides program expertise and ensures knowledge sharing of best practices with program stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in program execution tactics.

Bachelors Degree or Equivalent

Generally requires 10+ of relevant experience in press communications, speech writing, and event planning
Responsible for the research, development, planning, design, maintenance and implementation of policies and programs that enhance the organization's relations with the community, the public, governmental and regulatory authorities, shareholders and employees.
Collaborates with the VP to deliver communications through print, audio and/or video media.
Provides leadership and direction for multiple functional areas.
Manages professionals at manager, supervisor and professional levels.
Ensures appropriate resources to achieve financial and business objectives.
Influences, and shapes and integrates strategy for functional area(s).
Monitors and coordinates the distribution of the organization's messages through presentations, news or trade media contacts, special events, public speaking, or other means to reach defined audiences and meet specific program objectives.
Collaborates with the VP and management to lead a team that develops,manages, and implements the organization's corporate affairs strategies and policies.
Provides strategic leadership and direction for the Corporate Affairs team that encourages and embraces diversity of thought and drives change with projects and activities.
Works directly with public relations team to develop effective internal and external communications strategies to enhance the organization's relations.
Creates, implements, and achieves realistic, aggressive goals to align with corporate affairs policies and strategies.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
