Under direction of the Chief Investment Officer, the Senior Investment Officer helps to oversee the investment activities for the Company (Company) Retirement System Trust. Oversee the investment menu for the Company defined contribution plans. and Assists in the supervision of other members of the investment team and serves a key role in managing the service providers and advisors for the pension and defined contribution plans including investment managers, consultants, attorneys, custody banks, and actuaries.
MBA or professional designation such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
A strong working knowledge of capital markets, investment theory, and portfolio strategy. Ability to critically evaluate, select and monitor service providers and advisors. Demonstrated ability to strategically assess trends in the markets and to identify the areas of potential interest for the pension. Ability to interpret complex data and reports and to effectively synthesize and communicate technical financial concepts both orally and in writing. Ability to work independently. Ability to multi-task and prioritize among time-sensitive tasks. Ability to supervise staff and promote their professional development. Strong computer skills. Intellectual curiosity and continual self-development. Ability to acquire knowledge of and meet the standards established for the Company Professional Growth System.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Major in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred. Minimum ten or more years of professional experience demonstrating advanced knowledge and competence in investment management or investment consulting.
