AECOM is seeking a talent Sr. Environmental Planner with a focus on NEPA and Dept. of Defense related projects. This position could be based in any of AECOM's Pacific Northwest regions (Anchorage, Portland, Seattle)
Candidates will contribute to a strong technical environmental planning team by serving as project manager for interdisciplinary National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analyses, including environmental impact statements (EISs) and environmental assessments (EAs) in Alaska.
Also, expected to serve as technical lead/subject matter expert supporting EIS and EA efforts managed by others. Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience permitting and preparing NEPA analyses, solid time management and follow-through skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software.
Responsibilities will include development and evaluation of plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others. Candidates will assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed planning products. Perform as a staff advisor and consultant as to a technical specialty, a type of facility, industry, equipment or program function. Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws. Oversee specialized planning functions, such as large-scale new development proposals and environmental studies. Provides overall management of IE-related planning issues.
This roll will involve the advisement of the Planning Director on all planning-related matters. Advise various councils, boards, commissions and elected officials in planning related issues. Evaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilities. Prepares reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modifications.
BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.
Previous experience with NEPA
Previous experience supporting Dept. of Defense clients on large-scale planning projects
