Reporting to the Vice President of Product Management, the Sr. Director, Product Line Management, will be responsible for overseeing the Pocket Geek product & services portfolio, driving action that will enable top and bottom line results. This role is responsible for developing, driving and communicating our strategy, vision and road map for the Pocket Geek product line for all internal and external audiences .
Primary Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution.
Aligns product vision and strategy (3 – 5 year focus) to larger Connected Living strategy and leads subordinates and matrixed resources in executing product road map and requirements.
Determines organization and job structure required to meet product goals/objectives.
Identifies strategic opportunities and work with relevant internal groups and key stakeholders to align interests and deliver on the defined strategy.
Author detailed product requirements, wire frames, whitepapers, and other product collateral.
Act as product subject matter expert to both internal and external partners and prospective partners.
Define, collect, and report against specific product goals that align to company objectives.
Adjust the product strategy to continually meet company and product objectives.
Will manage 3 – 6 direct reports in the future.
Accountable for performance and results of all subordinates, with an annual and long-term (aligned to product road map) focus.
Will be responsible for project budgets (expense management) as assigned.
Candidate will need to reside in the Miami, FL, Westlake, OH or Wayne, PA areas.
Basic Qualifications Required - Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree required
10+ years of product management experience with proven, measurable success in developing and expanding product lines
5+ years of specific mobile application and/or mobile services related product line experience
5+ Experience with AGILE development methodology
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
Direct experience and passion for building mobile experiences including strong knowledge of the mobile consumer space and app ecosystems (iOS, Android)
Extensive understanding of mobile and technology industry and emerging trends
Experience in developing products for emerging markets together with the understanding of the approach required for this is highly desired
Experience in gathering detailed product requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting
Excellent creativity, innovation, management and organizational skills
Implementation orientation; demonstrated ability to translate strategic differentiators into products and features that launch
Technical fluency; comfortable understanding and discussing architectural concepts, schedule trade offs and new opportunities with technical team members
Proven ability to make smart feature (customer experience) versus time-to-market trade-offs; experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value
Excellent interpersonal skills; proven ability to guide cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management
Superb follow-through, problem-solving and communications skills
Professional with mature business judgment and strong collaborative style
Fluency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
