This position will collaborate across all verticals to help to support, connect, advise, and guide all Philanthropy Directors, Directors and Managers of Foundation Relations, and Grant Writers to maximize the opportunities Company has overall and regionally with Foundation major donors. She/he will oversee the creation of grant resources for fundable projects at the highest level, the disbursement of resources, and help grow and streamline foundation relations practices across the country.
In addition, he/she will also be a frontline fundraiser. In conjunction with the regions or independently, she/he will seek funding from:
Large Foundations that support multiple regions
Large Foundations that support at a national level
Large Foundations in areas that do not have major gift coverage
This position will be accountable for the nationwide combined annual revenue goal in excess of $40M.
Work with Sr. Philanthropy Directors and Philanthropy Directors, she/he will assess current Foundation relationships, help build pipeline and prospects with assistance from the Prospect Research Team.
Support with forecasting, goal setting, and donor retention
Advise on staffing when colleagues depart
Work to align external written donor messaging from Company leadership to Philanthropy teams
Work directly with programmatic leadership to obtain fundable project content information and create shareable funding documents
Content creation and updates to current content information, budgets, and messaging
Provide grant writing guidance and review
Obtain Attachments: Work with Marketing to obtain infographics/sell sheets, attachments, support documents – managing database that all have access to
Support with budgets so all have the same information
Coordinate to obtain grant agreement support (working with legal and finance)
Share best practices across teams and regions
Impact reporting support
Notes: Hope Lodge will continue to be a major priority, though we will work across all program areas. Close collaboration will be needed with Data team, Prospect Research Team, Legal, Finance, Cancer Control, Research and Marketing
Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience working with high level institutional funders; strategizing and securing 6 and 7 figure gifts
Strong interest in and understanding of institutional/foundation support
Strong writing and editing ability
Ability to work independently, prioritize projects, and adhere to deadlines
Ability and willingness to see projects through to completion

SKILLS, SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR KNOWLEDGE:
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
Strong working knowledge of fundraising
Established ability to build and cultivate relationships with a variety of constituents
Experience in writing professional donor-centric content. Proposals, Reports, and Budget experience preferred
The ability to be an ambassador for the Company
Ability to adapt to the benefits and challenges of work within a large and complex organizational structure
Willingness to speak by phone to follow up with donors and respond to inquiry. Occasional opportunities to meet donors at events and/or meetings.
Fundraising software - Salesforce experience preferred but not required
SPECIAL MENTAL OR PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Some infrequent travel may occasionally be required
