The Marketing Data Engineering and Analytics team is dedicated to empowering world class data driven marketing at Company. As part of Company's “individualized marketing” efforts we partner with Facebook and Google and other leading advertising platforms to determine the best way (through algorithm development and data) to make each prospective subscriber ad impression highly relevant and targeted. This is a high visibility role focused surfacing and evangelizing critical insights on performance of various marketing algorithms; identifying new learning opportunities on our audiences, creatives, and , and efficacy of complementary/competing algorithms. This information is vital to helping plan & improve performance of current and future campaigns as well as other non-programmatic marketing activities.
The ideal candidate will have a background in a quantitative analysis, subject area expertise in today’s ad tech landscape, and a history of delivering compelling actionable insights.
Responsibilities:
• Conceptualize and deliver in depth, thoughtful analysis on our various individualized marketing ML algorithms; present findings in easily consumable formats to all levels of a global marketing team.
• Research opportunities to improve the algorithms. It is expected that you’ll become an expert in how ML algorithms are implemented at Company and look for weaknesses in the current implementation.
• Partner with cross functional business and technical teams to identify new data sources and metrics that can improve algo performance
• Serve as key representative in partnership work with our ad platform partners.
Skills & Characteristics:
• You have an advanced degree in a quantitative field.
• You are comfortable wrangling Company size petabyte datasets, and know enough coding to be dangerous.
• You have a product mindset and ability to envision what your internal stakeholders need. Past product management experience a plus.
• You are extremely collaborative working across multiple internal and external. stakeholders/partners with ability to influence towards desired outcomes.
• You are a well-rounded, top performer who is able to process data and work strategically with internal and external algorithm partners.
• You're ambitious and willing to take action, but not stubborn. You recognize when you're wrong and move past your own mistakes.
• You leave your desk & collaborate. You recognize the value in face-to-face contact. (Not to be mistaken with extroversion.)
• You are curious. You learn eagerly about new concepts and tools.
• You have the ability to see both sides of an argument, and successfully argue for either side. You’re comfortable taking a position.
