Be part of a data science team that is focused on improving
surgical outcomes by leveraging traditional analytics as well as multiple
machine learning approaches.
The Senior Data Science Engineer will focus on both data
validity and interpretation, acting as a Data Quality Analyst to support the
data curators and data consumers. We are
building a data hub centered on usage data from surgical medical devices. Currently 20 TB of data is under management,
with 900 TB of data available in the field.
The Minimally Invasive
Therapies Group strives to enable earlier diagnosis, better treatment, faster
complication-free recovery, and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive
**SURGICAL INNOVATIONS** sets
the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating innovative
surgical products and services that focus on obesity and diseases and
conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall, pelvic region,
and the head and neck.
**A Day in the Life**
The Data Quality
Analyst will interact primarily with the internal development team and internal
data consumer groups R D, Quality Reliability, Sales
Marketing. This position will have two
focus areas: 1) make sure the data integration preserves the accuracy of the
source data and 2) test and monitor the data models that are interpreting the
source data. SQL and Machine Learning
tools will be used on a daily basis.
Some travel may be
required. All team members are currently
+ Evaluate large data sets for quality andaccuracy.
+ Identify and resolve data quality problems.
+ Determine impact of data quality issues.
+ Work with Curators and Consumers to correct dataquality errors.
+ Participate in root cause investigations fordata quality errors.
+ Develop process improvements to monitor andimprove overall data quality.
+ Develop and execute data cleanup measures.
+ Develop and execute data model monitoring tools.
+ Identifyareas of improvement to achieve data quality.
**Must Have: MinimumRequirements**
+ Bachelors degree required
+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanceddegree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

**Nice to Have**
+ 3+ years of experience as a data quality analyst
+ 5+ years of experience in a data analytics field
+ Experience testing and monitoring data models
+ Experience supporting traditional datawarehouses
+ Experience supporting AI / machine learningplatforms
+ Experience with SQL tools
+ Experience with Python, R or other statisticalanalysis tools
+ Experience as part of a DataOps team
+ Experience supporting IoT big data platforms
+ Experience supporting time series data sets
