The Senior Compliance Monitoring Analyst is responsible for performing compliance monitoring and testing assessments to ensure compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations. The Analyst partners with various business units to understand and assess compliance controls.
The Analyst performs independent testing, documents results in a clear and concise manner, prepares reports that summarize findings, and prepares recommendations to management to increase compliance and mitigate risks. Additional responsibilities of the Senior Monitoring Analyst may include reviewing workpapers completed by other team members to ensure they are thorough, clear, and complete.
The ideal candidate will ask questions to understand, exhibit commitment and a sense of ownership, and manage deadlines of multiple projects at once.
Responsibilities of a Senior Monitoring Analyst include (but are not limited to):
Maintain working knowledge of laws and regulations and understand the impact of such rules on bank products and/or processes.
Assess the effectiveness of regulatory compliance control activities performed in the business units related to consumer and commercial loan and deposit products and services.
Conduct transaction testing to validate regulatory compliance of consumer and commercial loan and deposit products and services.
Assess compliance with various obligations required by laws and regulations.
Participate in meetings with business units, individually or in a group, to identify gaps within current practices and regulatory requirements.
Identify and communicate compliance deficiencies as appropriate and provide recommendations for process improvements to increase compliance and mitigate risk.
Document workpapers thoroughly and summarize results.
Review workpapers completed by other team members to ensure they are thorough, clear and complete.
Draft, review and issue compliance reports to communicate compliance findings to management in a timely manner and coordinate follow-up activities to verify compliance findings are corrected.
Assist with regulatory exams and other special projects, as assigned.
The following skills and basic qualifications will be important to succeed in this role:
3-5 years of practical experience as a compliance officer, business analyst, financial analysts, risk analyst, systems analyst, audit analyst or project manager
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office projects
Moderate knowledge of banking and compliance regulations
Ability to understand processes and data flows
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical/critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Undergraduate degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Accounting/Auditing or Business Administration preferred
