Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. (“Company”) is a subsidiary of The Anschutz Company and one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world. Company owns a collection of companies including multi-use facilities such as STAPLES Center and Home Depot Center in Southern California, several sports franchises including the Los Angeles Kings (NHL) and Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) and Company LIVE, one of the world's leading concert promotions and touring companies. Company is also currently overseeing the development of L.A. LIVE, 4 million sq. ft. downtown L.A. sports, residential and entertainment district.
Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of daily and monthly financial accounting duties including account reconciliations and analysis, preparation of journal entries and related monthly close documents, financial records maintenance and monthly financial reporting at Nassau Veterans Memorial Veterans Coliseum. The position requires solid knowledge of accounting principles and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reconcile and analyze GL accounts including bank accounts, accounts receivable, prepaids, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, and other accounts as required
• Monthly review and booking of PO’s and all Overhead related accruals
• Circulate reports & conduct monthly Overhead reviews with each department
• Preparing and posting various journal entries as required
• Assist in the review of monthly financial results and internal reporting requirements
• Process, reconcile and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports as required
• Assist in compilation and upload of budget and forecast data
• Provide support and assistance as needed for both internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures as well as 404 compliance
• Developing and implementing improved accounting policies and procedures
• Perform other accounting and general office duties as required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office Software, particularly in Excel (including pivot table & vlookup functions)
• Proficient knowledge of accounting software systems, JD Edwards Enterprise One experience a plus
• Ability to communicate to management as it relates to finance and operation activities
• Ability to be flexible and redirect focus of priorities if needed
• Attention to detail while working under pressure to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with minimal supervision
• Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to accommodate monthly, quarterly and year-end closings
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA or pursuing CPA a plus
• Minimum of 2 years of public accounting and/or financial accounting experience
