Our Houston, TX location is seeking a seasonal employee in our tax department during our peak tax seasons. Approximate dates are February 15th through April 30th and August 15th through October 31st with the potential to be a year-round position. This is a full-time or part-time position with the potential for overtime closer to tax deadlines.
Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, corporations and other entities
Tax workflow management
Correspondence with clients and their advisors regarding tax information
Research complex tax issues and document conclusions
Compose and edit letters, memos, and other firm correspondence, as needed
College degree and active CPA license
Minimum of 5 years of tax preparation experience including at least 3 years of tax return review experience
Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Experience with GoSystem is a plus
Detail oriented (must be able to verify numerical accuracy)
Must work well in a team environment
Excellent grammar & proofreading skills
Good organizational skills & ability to prioritize projects
Ability to meet deadlines & work under pressure
Problem-solving & resolution ability
Ability to work overtime
