This position is responsible for all the dumping, testing, and disposition needed for Return Goods, Wash Water Tanks, VOC Wash water Tanks and Generic paint. The Return Goods Technician will also be involved in the efficient operation of the lab, general housekeeping, ensuring a safe work environment and will independently perform tasks as outlined by his/her supervisor/manager.
Dump all Returns Goods in the appropriate containers following all Environmental rules
Maintain Generic Paint tank
Filter or dump up full/partial distressed batches as needed
All recycling of plant use containers
Dumping of end runs
Follows all standard technical procedures and exercises good judgment and initiatives. Able to accomplish assigned work with little supervision
Conduct appropriate raw material testing requirements and file related results in the Raw Material Data Base
Maintain raw material retains. (last 3 loads)
Utilizes appropriate computer systems to ensure effective testing of products
Determines disposition of non-compliant finished goods
Places non-conforming material on hold as needed
Supports the ISO Management Systems and Safety Systems
Maintains a good inventory of the Return Goods department
May be required to work a different shift to cover for vacations, overtime, call-ins, etc
Maintains housekeeping and cleans all equipment.
Any other duty requested by their supervisor
Must adhere to all safety requirements of job
Identify and communicate product issues to other departments as needed.
Participation towards completion of other related tasks and duties as directed or needed
Create, maintain and update SOP’s for Return Goods to meet ISO requirements (where applicable)
Must be at least 18 years of ageMust be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment visa status
Must be able to work overtime with or without reasonable accommodation
Must have reliable transportation
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
An Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related field
Excellent written and oral communication skills (internally and externally) and ability to work on multiple tasks at all times
Strong computer/math skills knowledge is preferred
