South San Francisco, CA
Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
What will you do?
Work independently to complete production and quality analysis of reagents, components and finished products in accordance with the production schedule.
Carry out standard operating procedures involving complex laboratory techniques, calculations, materials measurement, operation of laboratory equipment.
Record keeping includes but is not limited to Batch Data Records, notebooks, and work order documents.
Utilize specialized technical knowledge and skills to make detailed observations and analyze data to ensure process within operating parameters.
The incumbent normally receives minimal instructions on routine work once properly trained.
Maintain equipment, product inventories and related records as assigned. Note variances on manufacturing documents; audit and evaluate process documents and propose revisions.
Actively participate in troubleshooting and variable identification for specific processes or activities as assigned. Suggest options / ideas for corrective actions.
Advise manager of factors that may affect quality, accuracy and usefulness of product.
May research new methods or steps in a process and present findings and recommendations to the team, including developing new and revised Standard Operating Procedures.
Complete, distribute and file records, prepare ad hoc reports as requested.
Strong oral and written communication skills are required to identify problems and implement solutions in a team environment.
Summarize and present data in group meetings
How will you get here?
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related discipline.
Prior experience working in a clean room or in manufacturing is beneficial
Experience manipulating data Excel or similar program.
Organic chemistry, polymer chemistry and /or nucleic acid chemistry experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Good lab technique and attention to detail is an absolute must.
Familiarity with conjugation and polymer chemistry methods is a huge plus.
Familiarity with bead chemistry is beneficial.
Hands on chemistry /biology lab experience knowledge
Excellent analytical skills, organizational skills, great attention to detail.
