Sales/Marketing Director - Tennis
Company is recruiting for a motivated individual to join our successful team. The main responsibility in this position is to develop, market and sell event and athlete sponsorships for our Tennis Division.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Utilize an extensive network of existing and new contacts and relationships to generate revenue through the creation, development and maximization of marketing partnerships for our clients, properties and projects;
• Develop and execute marketing strategies to effectively sell event and athlete sponsorships;
• Create strategic marketing plans for clients;
• Generate and follow-up on sales opportunities to reach set sales quota;
• Meet and engage with other CMG and IPG companies to generate collaborative growth opportunities
• Work closely with internal and external contacts including peers, clients and prospects;
• Establish and maintain relationships with sponsors and industry contacts, especially within the tennis industry internationally;
• Travel to events and meetings as needed;
• Have a general understanding and contribute to other sales opportunities for all of Company’s clients and properties particularly in the Talent & Properties division.
Required Qualifications:
• College degree and 7+ years of experience in event and athlete marketing;
• Established relationships with industry contacts and corporate sponsors;
• Proven track record of generating and closing deals; experience in cold calling;
• Proven success in selling in Asian and European markets;
• Proficiency in working in a multilingual environment;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships in the industry;
• Ability to work with little supervision; ability to set priorities and solve problems in a demanding, fast-paced environment;
• Excellent oral and writing communication skills – pleasant and effective phone sales ability a must;
• Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail;
• Ability to use good business judgment and to make quick decisions in situations where discretion is required;
• Enthusiasm for client service and team player attitude;
• Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word for Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, internet applications and knowledge of computer networks, hardware, and systems preferred;
• Prior experience in the sports industry
