Position Summary:
We are currently recruiting for a Rights Analyst with intellectual property experience to work in Business & Legal Affairs supporting the Rights & Clearance Group across EMEA and Asia-Pacific.
Responsibilities:
• As a key point of contact for rights and clearance requests for the international regions of the company, to support the team and provide timely and accurate rights and clearance advice and provide legal and administrative support.
• To advise on the exploitation of content on various digital media platforms and offerings, and in connection with editing, promotions, social media and other ad hoc projects.
• To understand and interpret key terms in a range of programming and related third party content agreements in connection with resolving rights and clearance queries.
• To collaborate with key stakeholders across the company, whilst keeping abreast of, and adapting to changing business priorities.
• To assist with the management of blackout quotas with respect to affiliate deals and generating monthly platform rights clearance reports.
• To provide general administrative support and to update and maintain various trackers.
• To provide support to other members of the Business and Legal Affairs department as and when required from time to time (capacity permitting).
• Must be prepared to turn their hand to anything – whether research requests and queries or supporting system upgrades and IT testing.
Requirements:
Skills
• A proven skill base covering the above functions would be a key advantage. Prior legal or rights experience is essential.
• Must have strong IT skills with at least basic knowledge of Excel and database exposure.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to work effectively at all levels within the company.
• Clear and concise communicator (both orally and written) - ability to present and distill legally complex matters to non-legal clients.
• Well organised with excellent attention to detail.
Knowledge
• Graduate with either a law degree or LPC
