The Vice President – Policies and Procedures candidate will be a member of our Home Loans Control and Oversight team. The candidate will be responsible for supporting Control and Oversight and acting as the central point of contact for Procedure Management and Risk Oversight. This will include partnering with the Business, Compliance, Legal, Operational Risk for Control and Risk Management functions to understand processes, related risks, and controls. The business scope of these activities covers the client lead process utilizing subsidiary applications and digital platform through processing, underwriting, closing/funding and servicing.
The ideal candidate has experience in the end to end mortgage process and various risk management functions.
Policies and Procedures
Manage the overall policies and procedures process for the Home Loans business, including:
◦ Compliance with Firm and Bank minimum standards
◦ Change management (identification and documentation)
◦ Partnering with internal stakeholders
Enhance policies and procedures to ensure that they are utilizable and that processes/controls are adequately reflected.
Perform gap analyses to determine if additional procedures are required
Provide status updates to senior management as required
Additional responsibilities as required by management
Manage the overall process with respect to risk assessments for the Home Loans business
Closely monitor new processes to ensure efficient and effective
Analyze processes within Home Loans to identify opportunities for efficiencies
Ensure firm policies and procedures are monitored to confirm working as designed and expected
Four to seven years of experience
Risk and control background, preferably with Mortgage Industry experience
Experience working with Senior Management and control groups, including Legal, Risk, and Compliance
Familiarity with Loan Origination System (LOS) a plus
Must have excellent teamwork orientation and the ability to work independently in a fast moving environment
College degree required, advance degree a plus
Private Bank experience preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional groups
Ability to interact with senior management
Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines
Meticulous follow-up and follow through
Excellent attention to detail
