Job Introduction
Company Children in Need is the BBC�s UK Charity. Our vision is that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood and the chance to reach their potential.
We raise money and then use it to support projects working with disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. We have the following strategic aims:

Last year Company Children in Need received over 3,400 applications for funding and awarded 1,400 grants to the value of £51.4 million.
We now need to appoint a Regional Officer to play a significant role in meeting the above aims of the charity, within the Central regional team, based in Leicester.
***Please note that this is a part-time Jobshare (3 days per week)***
Role Responsibility
As Regional Officer, you will play a significant role in the region to meet the aims of the charity. You will be managing a geographical area and grant portfolio, working with regional stakeholders to facilitate the development and delivery of solutions for change for children and young people.
You will provide leadership, management and support for the regional grant-making and grant management process, and will play a key part in supporting the annual Company Children in Need Appeal. This includes acting as a contact point across the voluntary and community sector and for key stakeholders throughout the Company, across the Company Children in Need fundraising community and beyond. This role supports the vision to enable even more effective and sustainable positive change for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
The Regional Officer will report to the Regional Head.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have experience working with the voluntary sector, preferably in the grant-making or children and young people spheres. You will have an understanding of the current voluntary and statutory sectors in England, including the central region. Your excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills will allow you to communicate appropriately with people of all types and at all levels. The ability to organise a large workload and to work quickly but calmly to tight deadlines is critical.
A high level of personal resilience is required to be successful in this hugely rewarding position where you give back to the community and change the lives of children and young people across the UK. You will be supported by a friendly team environment.
