We're hiring a Technician Specialist to work at our Pasadena, TX manufacturing and R&D location. As a Technician Specialist, you will be part of a team that works in a lab-scale polyolefin polymerization evaluations group and perform the following activities:
Supports new product development in the Specialty Catalyst business
Performs laboratory experiments in polymerization testing, in compliance with laboratory safety policies and practices
Performs chemical and/or physical analyses or scientific testing using both routine and specialized techniques
Collects, analyzes and processes laboratory samples
Records results of tests, organizes data, performs basic computations, and prepares reports and analyses using standard procedures and guidelines
Installs, operates, maintains and repairs laboratory test equipment, apparatus, systems and supplies
Assists engineers and scientists with a variety of laboratory tasks
Responsible for all laboratory activities – manages daily operations of the laboratory, including, ordering raw materials, processing sample requests, and regular laboratory maintenance and clean-up.
Performs laboratory experiments, including polymerization testing and resin analysis, recording data and observations.
Participates in group related safety activities.
Knowledge of chemistry/engineering principles and demonstration of mechanical abilities with lab equipment and instrumentation
Experience with software programming
Mechanical and mathematical aptitudes
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Experience with industrial safety practices
Strong attention to detail
Effective verbal and written communication skills
