What you’ll do
As an R&D Project Manager for the R&D Project and Program Management group at Company, you will manage the development and implementation process of the company’s R&D products and services, involving departmental or cross-functional teams from inception through delivery of new or existing products. You will plan and direct schedules of interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule, meeting or exceeding project stakeholder expectations, including agreed-to scope and quality.
Complete deadline-driven, team-based projects. Being responsible for facilitating overall project objectives, goals and project requirements. Work with team and stakeholders to define project scope and goals.
Plan, prioritize, implement and adjust delivery schedule, scope, resourcing, and quality, based on individual project requirements per consultation with project stakeholders.
Negotiate resource needs and coordinate technical resources for assigned projects, including both domestic and international resources.
Maintain project documentation such as project plans, schedules, issue lists, risk registers, and status reports.
Coordinate, communicate, and facilitate activities between team members and stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and manage conflict. Coordinate risk mitigation activity and escalate as appropriate. Manage project scope and expectations. Identify and constructively negotiate conflicts or areas of high risk.
Leverage methodologies, processes, project tools, and best practices to accelerate project delivery.
Identify project dependencies and stakeholder influences, work jointly with other organizations who share responsibility for delivery of final product. Act as central point of contact and interface with interested parties across the Company, such as Legal, Marketing and Company website to ensure project success.
Manage multiple large-scale complex projects.
Determine and evolve methods and procedures on new assignments.
Interact with senior and executive management as needed.
What we’re looking for

You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
4+ years of project management experience.
The nice to haves
Company software exposure/knowledge.
Experience with customer-facing projects.
Experience with software development projects with a particular focus on scope, quality, and on-time delivery aspects.
Exposure to the Risk domain.
Agile methodology and ability to direct/coach teams in the use of Agile methodology, with an emphasis on coaching teams in the adoption of best practices.
Other knowledge, skills, and abilities
Competence in project management for assigned functional area.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Negotiation and organizational skills.
May serve as a coach to peers and project teams across a variety of methodologies and processes.
Sphere of influence will be departmental.
