Location/Division Specific Information
Position is located at the Lexington warehouse in Rochester NY on first shift.
Under the direction of the QC Manager, the QC Receiving Technician is responsible for following defined QC procedures and providing inspection and testing on the shift assigned. Primary responsibility is to ensure that only acceptable components and assemblies are approved and accepted in our ISO/GMP Manufacturing environment.
Perform incoming inspection on purchased products and components used in manufacturing. Follow quality procedures, Quality Work Instructions (QWI) and Quality Control Inspection Plans (QCIP). This includes filling out daily required quality records and documents completely and correctly. Assuring effective communication during the workday and at shift change. Demonstrating knowledge of daily work responsibilities in order to maintain workflow that would prevent component outages in manufacturing. Understand and use QA specifications, Standard Test Procedures (STP’s), Engineering drawings and other engineering specifications. Perform tasks as part of the Non-conformance system documenting and preparing samples for supplier investigations Communicate inspection findings with appropriate personnel in the Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and Purchasing departments. Participate in corrective action activities. Assure product release of variances, rework, requests and other assignments from Quality Engineering or Quality Manager Proficient in understanding sampling plans required for quality inspection of incoming material. Document results in SAP.
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
Minimum 3 years of experience as a QC inspector in a Manufacturing environment
Must read and interpret product and assembly blueprints
Work with a variety of Laboratory inspection equipment including hand tools.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Proficient in SAP QM and Microsoft Applications is desired
Certification by ASQ is a plus
