Serving a population of over 500 employees that are located across the country, the Company Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, Division of Field Education is seeking a Project Specialist-Administrativethat is dependable, has a strong work ethic, and excellent organizational skills to join their team.
The position will work with a diverse population of faculty and staff that all support various stipend programs within the Masters of Social Work Program. This position will report to the Director of Workforce Development Stipend Programs. This position provides specialized administrative, research, and fiscal management to the Coast to Coast Project, a HRSA grant that trains MSW students to work with populations experiencing substance use disorders, with a special emphasis on opioid use disorder, and the LA DCFS Title IV-E, which is a grant that trains MSW students to work in public child welfare. These grants require a Project Specialist-Administrative to oversee data collection, track the completion of grant requirements and student progress, submit reports to the funders, manage budgets, set meeting agendas, and supervise student workers. In addition, this position proactively recommends, evaluates, and instructs on operational activities of the projects.
Specific duties are as follows:
Oversees data collection from students, faculty, and agencies for grant reporting purposes. Creates & maintains databases for accuracy and completeness. Prepares status reports for PI, Co-PIs, Co-Is, and Program Coordinators detailing program goals and outcomes and evaluates their effectiveness.
Recommends protocols and procedures related to the design and implementation of project objectives that maximize efficiency.
Assists in development of grant budgets. Provides fiscal management of program supplies, travel, honorariums, and stipend disbursements, and instructs personnel on procedures for accomplishing these tasks. Informs PI, Co-PIs, Co-Is, and Program Coordinators of spending trends and provides projections.
Organizes grant team meetings, creates agendas, composes minutes, and ensures action items are completed in a timely fashion. Makes recommendations to improve work flow.
Creates and submits detailed annual performance reports, periodic reports, and non-competing continuation reports to funders to ensure continuation of funding. Recommends updates to data collection methods to meet changing requirements.
Liaisons with faculty, staff, students, agencies, and funders to ensure all grant requirements are met. Makes recommendations and modifications as needed to meet project goals.
Provides leadership for events with students and guest speakers, ensuring all logistical needs are met.
Provides leadership in the supervision of student workers, providing direction and guidance on grant-related projects.
Preferred Education and Experience:
HRSA Electronic Handbooks
2+ years experience working in a university setting in an administrative or research role.
A strong candidate will have knowledge of government and grant funding, specifically HRSA and Title IV-E grant reporting requirements, knowledge of research methods, familiarity with Company policies and procedures, strong organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication.
This is a fixed-term, part-time position offered at 50% effort from start date through August 31, 2022.
