Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Program Director is responsible for providing Cause-Driven management and operations to the Youth, Family and Senior Experience including Youth and Adult Sports Programming, Rockwall, Stay and Play, FunShop, Family programming, Senior programming, site operations, and a leadership role in the annual support campaign. Day to day operations include staff supervision, fiscal control, program development, program area facility management/maintenance, program optimization/fulfillment, and volunteer development. The Program Director is also responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and leading their staff team in superior levels of member service and engagement. Supervise up to 3 full-time associates and a team of up to 20 part-time program leaders. Qualifications Required Skills: • Capable of carrying out assigned responsibilities. • Capable of accepting training and supervision. • Capable of communicating effectively both orally and in writing. • Flexible Schedule, days, nights and weekends – this position requires a significant amount of evening and weekend attendance. • Proficient computer skills. • Aquatics knowledge preferred but not required Required Experience: • A Bachelors Degree in a child-related field or Sports Management/Recreation/Health Sciences is preferred. • Experience developing and implementing youth and family programming in a 2,500+ unit YMCA or equivalent. Prior experience delivering physical and social programs to seniors preferred. • At least 21 years or older. • 2 years supervisory experience - supervision of full time associates preferred. • Current CPR/AED/O2/First Aid certification (or within 30 days of hire). • YMCA New Staff Orientation and 6 hours of child abuse prevention training. Essential Functions • Plan, develop and implement YCM sports and youth and family development programs within Association guidelines and Strategic Plan. • Supervise Stay and Play (child minding services for members). • Recruit, hire, train, lead, and coach talented program associates and volunteers in all areas of responsibility. • Develop staff schedules for all program areas to include Rock Wall, Stay and Play, Fun Shop, Teens, Sports, Seniors, etc. • Create opportunities for members to form small communities and build meaningful relationships. • Create and implement age appropriate activities that drive member retention and engagement. • Implement the Association Fun Shop program. • Supporting and assisting the Summer Camp Program • Foster an environment that is positive and motivating to children and peers. • Exceed revenue goals and work within assigned expense budget in all areas of responsibility and participate in the budget process as assigned. • Effectively plan and coordinate operation of all sports programs to include game schedules, practice schedules, facility usage and program planning/scheduling, and communication with members, volunteers and staff for both youth and adults. • Maintain high quality standards adhering to or surpassing state licensing where applicable, and care and maintenance of program facility and equipment. • Effectively coordinate facility usage for assigned programs and activities. • Plan, develop, direct and monitor an effective system of communication with program and management staff regarding progress, plans and problems. • Provide leadership and support for center management team, annual support campaign, and volunteer committees/boards as assigned. • Develop, produce and distribute program information necessary to promote assigned programs, in accordance with branch marketing plans. • Ensure high quality programs through innovative program development and participant/member feedback. • Implement Association best practices and policies as they relate to operations including purchasing, payroll, reporting, business management, and record keeping. • Participate in successful annual support campaign and provide leadership to staff giving and engagement. • Attend and actively participate in all meetings as assigned. • Incorporate the four character values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility and adhere to the YCM Code of Conduct. • Communicate the mission and objectives to the community. • All other duties as assigned.
